Our Week’s Glance

October 2, 2015

This week has been a whirlwind.  Mark’s been out of town for training with work.  And, I don’t know about you, but for me, that makes the parent to child ratio a little bit tricky.  I tend to stay in “survival mode” when I’m acting as a single parent.  But, even with a crazier-than-normal week, we had fun 🙂 Here’s a quick glance into our lives for the week…

We started working on (and completing) costumes for the kids’ Fall Festival at school happening this Saturday!

Here’s my attempt at Austin as “Berlioz” (from Disney’s Aristocats):

I can hardly wait to see him do his duet with “Marie” singing “Scales and Arpeggios”!  Isn’t he the cutest Berlioz you’ve ever seen?! {Yes…I’m partial…}

And, Katie is preparing to make her debut in “Everybody Wants to be a Cat”!  Her outfit was a little more challenging for me, mostly because of having to run down the clothes to make it with!  But she’s a beautiful brown cat!!  I’ll have to post pictures of Katie later on, as we didn’t do any trial runs of her face make-up.  Mrs. Jocelyn, from Wishes Face Painting, is going to step in and take over the kids’ face make-up for Saturday’s performance!  {Yah!!}

Addison decided that she can no longer eat bananas like a “baby” (cut up or with Mommy holding it)…and she makes sure to let you know that new fact, until you let her “do it herself”.  Not sure this momma is ready for this Miss Independent, but ready or not, here she comes!

Addison also had her very first dentist appointment, and she did amazingly!  It does help when you have a fantastic set of dentists and dental hygienists that you love…

The kids and I worked on creating our very own town on the driveway…we didn’t finish, but we had a lot of fun, and it helped keep the kids’ minds off of missing Daddy so much.  It is currently complete with a Moes, Somerville Baptist Church, a zoo and aquarium, a pet store, our own houses, and the Indy 5000 {yes, I know it should be 500, but the kids insisted on 5000…}  What more could a town need?! 😉

Now, we’ve survived the week, and we’re waiting for Daddy’s flight to arrive…
