Disney World | Arrival Day!!

After what seems like a FOREVER long countdown starting around 180 days prior to our trip, our Disney World trip finally arrived!  We rented a nice SUV that was large enough for our family to ride along with Nana and Pawpaw (and all of our luggage), and headed towards Florida!  We did stop about halfway to Disney World to sleep for the night, and arrived at Pop Century Resort, Disney World on Sunday afternoon. We knew we would be limited...

Busy Summer Days

Here’s a quick “picture view” of the start of our lazy busy summer days… Pool & Ocean {water} fun…the choice summer activity for Katie and Austin! Katie’s “milestone” — jumping (with floaties) off the  diving board withOUT holding her nose… OVER and OVER and OVER again! Austin’s “milestone” — enjoying the water (even in his face)  and dunking himself underwater without holding his nose with NO floaties (in the shallow end) Katie’s favorite ocean fun — catching and jumping the...

Impromptu Vacation

We recently enjoyed an impromtu {mini} vacation to the beautiful mountains in TN, to visit our vacationing family.  Mark’s parents and uncle had rented a cabin for the week, to enjoy some rest, relaxation, and fall colors in the beautiful TN mountains, and they graciously invited us to join them for the weekend.  We obliged with little (if any) hesitation! Although our time was short, we enjoyed our wonderful time with the family, and the beautiful sights of the mountains. ...

Family Vacation & Reunion | Gatlinburg, TN

WARNING — This is one long long long post…SORRY!!  But maybe it will make up for my terrible slacker job of keeping this blog updated.  I promise I’m trying to get back into my routine!!  🙂 We recently returned from a nice week-long vacation with Mark’s family (immediate and extended) to Gatlinburg, TN.  I brought my camera, but it didn’t see the light of day…it was pretty much there just so I knew it was okay 🙂  SO…since I was...

Something’s fishy…

Due to the tornadoes in our area and the widespread power outages it caused, we made an unplanned visit to our Mobile family for a long weekend.  We enjoyed getting to spend extra time with our family (and the power/hot water, as well)! While there, we were able to take the kids fishing.  This was Katie’s 2nd time to fish and Austin’s 1st.  They were both SO excited about their fishing trip!  Here are a few pictures of them catching...

Beach Bums

Though early April sounds a little too early for “Beach Bums”…we had a great time at the beach this past weekend with Nana, Pawpaw, Uncle Myles, and Aunt Angela!  Austin, especially, has made HUGE progress with his love of the beach…instead of crying when he touched the sand, he cried because he had to leave the sand! I am afraid our next several Mobile visits are going to require a day to once again become a “Beach Bum”…at least, if...

Tate’s Farm Fun

My sister, Heather, and I recently took our kids to Tate’s Farm (aka the pumpkin patch) for a long day of fun and play.  At the farm, the kids… rode horses  (I think we’ll end up with one of these on our back porch before long…all of the kids loved them!) Played on tractors… Had fun and made snow angels in the corn crib… (my kids now think everyone should have a corn crib in their backyard… and as much...

Austin’s 2nd Birthday Party

As most of you know, our sweet Grandma E passed away on Austin’s 2nd Birthday.  It was one of those bitter-sweet days for our family.  So, of course, Austin’s birthday and party was put on hold for a while, and thankfully, he didn’t even notice! We were able to spend a nice amount of time with our Mobile friends and family during the week following Austin’s birthday, which was great!  And in that time, we had Austin’s 2nd Birthday Party...

Beach Bums…

As a mom, photographer, and lover of pictures, I should have tons of pictures to show you from our mini beach vacation last weekend.  But all I can say is BEACH BUM!  We all enjoyed the beach…the ocean, the sand, the seafood, the pool, the hot tub, the “she-shells”, and the wonderful family time.  We all kept a head full of sand, because of Austin’s sand-throwing skills.  We all played, laughed, and played some more.  We all stayed hot, smelly,...
